Food Hub

MARS CDC is developing a South Jersey Food Hub initiative in conjunction with Royal Dynastic Organics in Millville, New Jersey. The initiative is intended to support a stronger and more resilient food system through aggregation, distribution, technical assistance, producer training, and expanded market access for local and regional farmers, producers, and agribusinesses.

MARS Community Development Corporation (MARS CDC), in partnership with Royal Dynastic Organics, is supporting a regional Food Hub initiative in New Jersey focused on strengthening local food systems, expanding market access for farmers and producers, and improving food access in underserved communities. Food hubs serve as important community and supply chain connectors by helping bring together local farmers, growers, food producers, distributors, community organizations, institutions, retailers, and families. Through coordinated efforts around agricultural production, food aggregation, storage, distribution, and logistics, this initiative seeks to create stronger pathways for fresh, locally sourced food to reach the communities that need it most.

By supporting this Food Hub initiative, MARS CDC aims to help increase access to healthy foods, reduce barriers for small farmers and food-based businesses, and promote economic opportunity within New Jersey’s agricultural and community development sectors. The initiative may also support partnerships with schools, food pantries, community programs, senior services, local markets, and other organizations working to address food insecurity and improve community wellness. Through outreach, collaboration, workforce development opportunities, and supply chain coordination, MARS CDC and Royal Dynastic Organics are helping advance a more resilient, equitable, and community-centered food system that supports families, strengthens neighborhoods, and contributes to long-term regional growth across New Jersey.

Why This Matters

The Food Hub initiative is designed to improve coordination across production, procurement, handling, distribution, and market access while increasing opportunity for underserved and socially marginalized producers and improving food access in underserved communities.
